Ryan Palmer leads at the end of Round one of the 2012 HP Byron Nelson Championship after shooting a 6-under 64. Palmer, the Colleyville native, had three birdies on each side for a clean scorecard.
Palmer is no stranger to being atop the Nelson scoreboard as he started with the lead Sunday morning at last year's Championship. He eventually lost in a playoff to Keegan Bradley. He said that after coming so close last year, he's looking forward to being back in the hunt.
